Editor of Notes from the Modern Magazine, 2016

Following the 2016 Modern Magazine conference and while I was editor of the magCulture Journal, I edited and conceptualized a publication featuring twelve miniature magazines—each representing a different speaker at the conference. The Modern Magazine invites editors and art directors from leading mainstream and independent titles to give talks, and 2016’s edition featured Penny Martin from The Gentlewoman, Gail Bichler from The New York Times Magazine, and Seb Emina from The Happy Reader, amongst others.

Tasked with creating a publication that represented the day’s events, I put together written versions of each speaker’s talk, which I edited to reflect the tone, style, and ethos of their magazine. These were then printed in pamphlets designed by the magCulture team to look like each speaker’s title, and given away to the audience as a special reminder of the day.
